Community Health Institute (CHI) is a Federal Government initiative created by the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) under the Community Health Practitioners Act CAP C.19, LFN, 2004. Established to address Nigeria’s critical need for skilled community health practitioners, CHI serves as the premier institution for community health education, training, and research.
Located in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, CHI is uniquely positioned to provide quality manpower that strengthens the nation’s community healthcare system and improves public health outcomes across Nigeria.
The following are the objectives of the Community Health Institute:
To promote the practice of Community Health in Nigeria and beyond.
Advance the knowledge and skills of Community Health Practitioners and other Professionals  through professional education and training.
To promote specialization and support research in Community Health Practice.
To promote and improve PHC implementation.
Conduct examination and award Certificates and Diplomas for Membership and Fellowship.
To organize Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) required to update the professional competence of Community Health Practitioners in various community health practices.
Equip Community Health Practitioners with knowledge and skills to enable them to function in managerial and leadership roles in healthcare settings.
To identify and liaise with other health professionals, relevant institutions, and organizations within and outside Nigeria to promote Community Health practice.
Write a short description, that will describe the title or something informational and useful.
Promote and organize members’ development through training courses, workshops, and fellowship within and outside Nigeria.
To perform other services and functions, as may be directed by the Proprietor.

Academic Partnership with Nasarawa State University, Keffi Community Health Institute partners with Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) to deliver academically accredited postgraduate diploma programmes. Students receive their certificates from NSUK, ensuring nationally recognized qualifications that enhance employability and professional recognition across Nigeria's healthcare sector while benefiting from CHI's specialized community health training and modern facilities.
