Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health challenge in Nigeria despite the availability of effective treatment regimens. Increasing evidence suggests that the success of TB control programmes is strongly influenced by the health literacy and protocol adherence of frontline Primary Health Care (PHC) workers who serve as the first point of contact for most patients. However, regional disparities in workforce competence and adherence to National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme (NTBLCP) guidelines persist across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.
